Food Assistance

LINK delivers food assistance to people in the Herndon and Sterling areas of Northern, Virginia. Regrettably, we can no longer deliver to Ashburn after June 30, 2024.

If you have a food request, please call LINK at 703-437-1776 and leave a message. A LINK volunteer will contact you to verify your need and schedule a delivery as appropriate.  As we do not have full-time staff to provide immediate response to your messages, we thank you for your patience and understanding.

 Mobile Food Pantry

On the second Tuesday of each month, LINK offers a Mobile Food Pantry in the rear parking lot of Christ the Redeemer Church (46833 Harry Byrd Hwy., Sterling) from 11 am - 1 pm (or until the food is all distributed). The food is donated by the Capital Area Food Bank and usually consists of vegetables, fruits and canned goods. There are no restrictions - anyone who shows up can receive the food.

 Financial Assistance

Assistance is provided by referral from specific county agencies or the clergy of LINK member churches. Financial assistance is limited to those living in the LINK service area of Herndon, Sterling and Ashburn areas of Northern, Virginia.

INDIVIDUALS NEEDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE MUST CONTACT THE COUNTY AGENCY FOR THE AREA IN WHICH THEY RESIDE. PLEASE DO NOT CALL LINK DIRECTLY.  LINK Financial assistance is provided through:

These organizations have trained personnel to screen for qualified candidates and can assure that people first meet LINK's specific criteria before contacting LINK. And, by working through these agencies, funds from other local charities may be available and the person needing assistance may be referred to other programs that can provide additional types of assistance. Typically, funds provided by LINK are for utility costs (if there is a cut-off notice), and rental housing (after an eviction notice).
